With the average cost of fuel increasing rapidly we all require some advise on how we can best manage our overall fuel consumption, mileage and costs. No doubt high gas prices will influence the world to change some of our travel habits and with some simple changes the following should be easy to follow,
Although this should be obvious where possible you should try to drive less. You can walk or ride a bicycle to nearby places, organise a carpool with work colleague, parents and schools enabling you you save considerable amounts on your commuting expenses over time.
It is important to also ensure that your car is properly maintained. Even the smallest of problems can make a noticeable difference in fuel economy. Simple steps can also make a huge difference like ensuring the gas caps are tightened after filling your cars (to avoid evaporation) and maintaining good tyre pressure.
It is also wise to turn your car off when not is use. Keeping your car idle for even thirty seconds can cost you a considerable amount of money over time.
