Other than letting your can run only on water and fuel there are other ways you can improve your car performance.

Lets begin with accelerating your car first. It is important for you to know that every time you accelerate you car you are using far more fuel than when you may be using when driving on a constant speed. So it is best to let the car gain speed slowly rather than “flooring” the accelerator at one go.

Based on the above explanation it is important that you drive at a constant speed where possible and avoid trying to gain speed to beat the traffic lights. It always best to drive slow and easy, to accelerate slowly and and to maintain a steady speed unless of course there is a need to brake or stop.

When it comes to braking it is also important for you not to go hard on he brake but rather to step on the brake slowly. If you brake hard, then your are using up more fuel than necessarily required and no doubt will also be causing unnecessary damage to your tyres.
It is also important to check your tyre pressure regularly. Most people think that if the body of their car in not too near the ground then their car is fine however this is not very effective. The more surface area it has on the ground with the tyre then the more fuel is required to get the car moving.

Also, ensure that your engine oil is regularly checked because a well maintained engine will help you to save fuel over the long hall.

You could also remove any unnecessary items from your car boot because any extra weight in your car will require more fuel than otherwise needed.

- When purchasing a new car, try and factor in which car is most economical to you and calculating the total mileage you will require each year. Sometimes a more expensive purchase may prove to be even more economical in the long run therefore don’t opt for the cheaper version without calculating the overall cost over time.
- You can purchase a magnetic device called thermaflow and motoflow which help to save you money on car fuel and household heating. The motoflow can easily be attached to the car’s fuel pipe and according to government figures and testing this can save you approximately 20% of your overall cost.
